Yes I have a BOSS distortion plug in unit for my steel, but what are some other favorite distortion effect units that you guys use and recommend over the BOSS distortion plug in unit. Thanks for any input and suggestions. |

Allen,
Earlier this past summer I ordered one of Brad Sarno’s Earth Drive pedals from him. I think this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on any kind of effects unit. You can get so many levels of fuzz, and I sounds SO GOOD! Much, much smoother than anything else I’ve used. Your mileage may vary, but that’s my 2 cents.

I use a Benado. I really like how manageable it is. |

I use an Aion Azimuth which is a clone of the Hermida Lovedrive. It's a "dumble style" overdrive. Think Dave Lindley with Jackson Browne. _________________ Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

Whatever else I try I always return to my old SansAmp. They call it the SansAmp Classic now. |

On my board I am currently using:
Fuzz- Solar Flare by (SMS) Sarno Music Solutions
Distortion- Timmy Pedal by Paul Cochrane (NOT MXR Branded)
Overdrive- 68 Plexi Drive w/Digital Silent Switching (Early White Version) Pedal by (LPD) Lawrence Petross Designs
If you play country music, and just want a little bit of "Fuzz Territory " for some of your "Lite Rock" stuff, get an Earth Drive pedal from Brad Sarno and you'll be good to go. I see Brad has a new "Boost" pedal on his site, I gotta try that puppy out for sure. |

I'm also a Zendrive guy...but I just sold mine at an inflated price (the factory is pretty much out of business) and bought a OneControl Golden Acorn Overdrive Special, which, to my ears, is identical to the Zendrive...very violin-like sustain, very touch sensitive...and much, much cheaper and smaller - my board is mostly mini-pedals now. _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com
