Anthony Locke was visiting San Francisco from Austin and met up with Mikiya Matsuda and the Alcatraz Islanders at the Curio Bar in the Mission district. Other players include Nick Rossi on guitar, Vic Wong on upright bass and Rhonda Sauce on vocals..

The song is Fats Waller's "Porter's Love Song To A Chambermaid".

I'll try to post more as I process them. It was a fun Sunday afternoon!

Here's another one - Out of Nowhere, originally by Johnny Green.

I've gotta say, that particular Clinesmith holds up well in comparison to the different style Clinesmith frypan. I'd be happy to own either one.

Edited to refer to Clinesmith rather than Rickenbacker.

Terrific playing! I have the same model Clinesmith - only with the horse shoe instead of the Bigsby-style PU. It's a tone monster but very Hi-Fi so bad technique will quickly put egg on your face.

I think that’s a Clinesmith Fry pan.

I love this stuff! Assuming that's a cast aluminum Clinesmith?

I checked with Mikiya and he confirmed that both of the instruments are made by Todd Clinesmith. They both sounded wonderful - if you ever wanted to know the difference in tone between the two styles, here you go.

Here's the last video in this series. Stompin' At The Savoy. Written by Edgar Sampson, also credited to Benny Goodman, Chick Webb and Andy Razaf.

I love this. Acoustic volume level, relaxed playing. Inspires me to play. Nice job on the video / audio, too.

These two are just outrageous! I agree with Jerry, the levels and the relaxed playing are inspirational to me as well. And that vocalist!! Thanks for sharing these.
