Haha. Pretty much sums it up. Cool I am creating spontaneous jams using my lap steel and my laptop, tapping drum grooves out on my keyboard and looping them, adding bass lines and then whatever feels right using my MIDI and virtual instruments and amps.

A lot of technical stuff goes into doing this, so sometimes it compromises my ability to play at my A level, but it’s becoming more clear to me how to make this happen, and I’m hoping to do this kind of stuff in front of an audience, maybe even with a drummer and bassist.

Mike - really like this. Have you ever met Steve Ulrich? His band Big Lazy sometimes plays at Barbes (3/25) and might be a potential conspirator.

Sure, I know Stephen. In fact, Big Lazy’s bassist is also my long-time compadre/bassist. They are neighbors too.

Hi Mike,
I really like your work also. First time I listened to this song it completely relaxed me, like I melted away in a hot tub.
Thanks! Greg
