Does anyone happen to know the official title of the list of steel guitar tunings that Paul Bigsby assembled in the late 1940s/early 1950s? If someone holds a copy, the publisher and exact year of publication would be good to have, also.
I have looked at Bigby's list at some library over the years, but cannot recall which one right now; if I knew the title, publisher, and year, I might be able to borrow a copy on interlibrary loan. Thanks. |

According to this post, it was called "60 Modern Tunings For 8 String Steel Guitar". I wish you good luck in your search! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Intriguing! Thanks to Mark for posting Mr. Bigsby's book and to Anthony for requesting the info about it. |

Mark,
Thank you for posting the Bigsby pamphlet in its entirety—very helpful. Interesting that Bigsby—in 1953—starts right out with SEVEN-string tunings. Greg, I'm glad Mark's posting was informative for you (and several of the other folks here). Allan, please keep going with your archive of tunings. |
