Dag---you really are going to need to talk to BMI. I've got a 1983 BMI S-10. I just noticed for the first time what a large radius the changer has. And the axle is hidden. My measurements, from what seems to be the dead center/top of the radius to the axle of the nut is 24 1/8" Seems strange. But that's what I've got.

I think it depends on whether the guitar is keyed or keyless. I had a keyed S-10 BMI for a while. I didn't measure the scale, but I'm sure I would have noticed if it was 25 1/4"!
