I finished another Rose steel restoration and update a few weeks ago. J.R. Rose started the body in the mid '70s and it had been laying around until I got it a year ago. I finished the body, adapted a modified MSA Classic double/double changer, made all of the undercarriage parts and put it together. I had a few problems finishing it, but got some advice from the professionals, and the third time was a charm. This one is set up with 4 pedals and 6 knee levers, I use two RKL levers, an inside and an outside. I put raise helper springs on it and the pedal and lever action is superb, and it sounds pretty good too. I put an E66 pickup in it first, and didn't care for it, so I tried a single coil pickup and like it better, I'll probably swap it for an Alumitone before long, I'm an Alumitone junkie.

Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Just GORGEOUS Darvin. And sounds fantastic. And I think you might like a Jerry Wallace True Tone single coil pickup also in their. If you can find one. I like them best of all. I just now stumble onto this post. I know you sent me pictures and a you tube but this is really nice. So glad and happy I connected with you and you have finished some of my very early day beginnings. It is really a cool thing to see this one and the Red one finished. You have did an outstanding job. Thank You.
And these bodies have been stored in a closed and dry condition all these years. They are rock hard no doubt.
Take Care my Friend, J.R. Rose
