solo around 2:00 is smooth as glass, along with the fills. Pretty sure it's Paul F. That slide brought back memories of Jeff Newmans style of playing. This kind of playing always stops me dead in my tracks. Great singing performance from Mandy.

I agree John. Those subtle bar moves on the fills are a nice touch.

You're right, Joe, looks like Paul Franklin gets the credit for this one.

That's really good. Really good playing by Paul Franklin. That slide reminds me of the Dicky Overbey slide on Ronnie Milsap's "Busy Making Plans" on Ronnie's live album.

You are right Rick. I had not heard Dicky O on that cut before. Beautiful for sure. Those slides were so effective and powerful.

Thanks for the tip! I just downloaded 8 of Mandy's albums on Apple Music so I can listed to them everywhere. I wasn't aware of her latest stuff.

That doesn't sound like Paul Franklin on that particular Cut of Mandy singing "Sweet Dreams". I can't find credits of that unique album of Mandy singing songs from Songwriter Don Gibson.

Jeff here's the version Mandy did with Paul Franklin, listed in Credits on that Sweet Dreams Album>
https://youtu.be/bZ2HCVCE0vg
And there is NO steel solo...only some small section with Steel guitar fills.....

OK just found album Credits of that cut of Sweet Dreams and I'm going to go with my Mentor "LLOYD GREEN"

Just saw Ricky's comment and didn't realize Mandy had re-recorded Sweet Dreams for this special album "I Can't Stop Loving You" honoring Don Gibson. So, check out this review, any chance that's Lloyd Green on "Sweet Dreams", Ricky?

Haha, looks like we both posted at the same time Ricky. Yes if anyone knows everything about Lloyd's playing and sound, it's you Ricky D. Smile

Mandy is a wonderful singer and does the Patsy style better than anyone. Paul adds his own flavor to the cut making it all the more sweet.

It a good steel break no matter who it is. Someone will probably tab this out, or make a video, and people will spend hours or days to learn what was done in a few minutes. Such creative playing.

Need to mention too.... Mandy did such a good job on this version of Sweet Dreams (original post version). I'm partial to the more traditional style.

Yeah Jeff; same timing on post...we're just alike...ha...LOL.
Thanks Joe; yes I love detective work, especially if I detect something "Not Correct"..ha...
Larry Dering; that is Lloyd Green on Joe's original post; as that was "Sweet Dreams" off the album of Don Gibson songs> NOT the Sweet Dreams patsy songs album.

Ricky, thanks for the correction. Apparently the post I made showed up much later than when I put it there. I love Lloyd's playing and I'm not as keen at picking out players by sound. At any rate it's a stunning piece of work as expected.

Way cool Larry and no worries; I always know when it is Lloyd Green or Tom Brumley or Paul Franklin, as I've been listening to those 3 more in my whole life than any; others.
