I hope I am not stepping on Bill's toes by posting this, but I just cant get enough of this great tune by a great steel player, the late great Herby Wallace. I know its old hat to many of you, but here it is again Smile On another post in the tab section, I was wondering if anyone had a tab of this tune,,,I dont think Herb tabbed it.

Wish I could help. Herby was my favorite C6 player and a friend. I don't recall this tune tabbed out on any of his material. I probably have the backing tracks in my stash of material.

Love it. What a shame, I don't know the drummer but everyone else on that stage is gone now. We lost some great ones. That video is a treasure.

Thanks for posting this, it captures Herby's passion perfectly, I was lucky to know him from his many appearances at the PSGA's shows over the years. He was such a nice man and such a great musician, I love all his recordings, he really loved Jazz and classic tunes as well.

Keep them coming!

Herby was a great player. I never talked to him at the Texas Show. I called him one day about purchasing a C6th course. He was very kind and talked to me like he had known me for years. I remember him telling me you have to play C6th if you live in Texas. He really encouraged me to learn to play C6th and I am still learning. Oh yeah, thirty minutes later I was getting off the phone with him. I found out Herby Wallace was also a 1st class individual.

I always talked to Herby in St Louis, Dallas..you are right he was such a nice man..he and I were the same age and I discovered we had a mutual interest in model trains...he said when he got to a new town, he also went to the local train store. I bought all of the material I could from him, I have since found that I missed a few..ha. But you are also right, he always took the time to talk to me and treat me as a friend...his material was always so well done, accurate, and a pleasure to try to play ! Altho, of course, I always failed to reach it at a level I would like to, but I am still trying ! He was a real treasure, and I do miss him...he was definately one of my favorite players of all time ! A true gentleman in every sense of the word !

I see my sons big head on the front row. He's at the end of the tuning keys on Herby's guitar. If that kid was at a steel show he was getting a front row seat. He didn't care how many old ladies he had to run over. Laughing I loved herby. I only lived 60 miles from him when he lived in Chattanooga. We got together sometimes for lunch. He knew all the great local eating places.

Herby was a great player and good guy. He pushed me and it really helped my confidence coming from a great player like him.

Besides, his music there are two traits of Herby that come out in this thread…Herby loved to talk and he loved to eat!! Laughing Laughing

RIP my friend.
