Here is my solution for a case to fit my Rukavina Ripple lap steel. It originally came with a TAC rifle case but the lap steel has a 24" scale and is a little longer than the average lap steel. The case works but is a little to tight for my taste. Anyway after searching all over creation for a better case, I happened upon a Roadrunner (Guitar Center's brand) padded bag for an acoustic Parlor body guitar. Guitar Center had just gotten 3 of them in so I brought in my lap steel to check the fit. It slid around too much for my taste so I went to Mac's Hardware and bought a chunk of 3" foam (in retrospect 2" would probably worked fine). FYI it was around $35.00. I traced a pattern and cut it out with my wife's electric knife. The one she uses to filet fish with. She cleans any fish we catch. Glad that 28 years ago I had to foresight to put that in our wedding vows! Anyway, I digress; The foam cuts like butter with the electric knife. The new case works like a charm. Not sure I came up with this idea. Probably heard it on the forum somewhere, but it works!
