Just thought I'd share, I got this armrest from steel guitar accessory maker Leigh Pollari near Nashville. Very high quality, durable, attractive pad!
Goes on the steel without modifacations, and it fits in my case.
As with any of the other products I have purcheased from Leigh, it is first rate!
Contact info attached.

Great looking armrest!
I wondered why it took so long for someone to offer a half-wide rest for the Discovery...that didn't hang over the back edge of the guitar.
Nice work! |

Thanks Tom! And good question! I think she is on to something here!
She seems to keep a finger on the pulse of the steel guitar industry, this is a great idea! _________________ John Drury

Did you mean an SD-10? I think she said she did, but you had best ask her. _________________ John Drury

Donn,
I used Scotch double sided indoor tape. Didn't want to drill the cabinet and use screws.
I have used it before with armrests on other guitarts, never had a problem.
They come off easily with a hair dryer, and Strike-Hold CLP will clean off any residue, it doesn't harm the Mica.
The 2 sided tape sticks like a federal indictment! Good stuff!

I use "velcro" tabs. Allows you to remove/reposition the pad without removing the tape. |

Same as John, I wonder about the arm rest to use on a D-10. Seems like it would work the same as using on a S-10. Looks like it would be nice to have to play the C6th neck on a double. |

????? On a D-10 both necks are strung Did you mean an SD-10? What does the C6th tuning have to do with any of this? I am a little confused here. _________________ John Drury

This nicely designed narrow arm rest is for an S-10.
Well.....why not hang it on a D10 the same way so one would have the arm rest available while playing the C6th neck?
I have 2 D-10's, I could sure see an advantage to having that narrow arm rest up against the C6th neck. |

Thank you John Drury and everyone else for your flattering comments. I appreciate it!
I make everything custom so, if you want them a certain width or length, I can do that.
Just be aware that it is up to YOU to decide if it will fit when you put it into your case. I will have no clue.
Also, it will be YOUR job to purchase and apply the tape or velcro you'd like to use, and apply it.
Please email me at leighpollari@yahoo.com to order, or if you have further questions. I'm not always on here, but if you keep complimenting me, I'll visit more often! (My boss is a real pain in the butt. She's got me working hard. {me} )

Here’s another fine example of Leigh Pollari’s excellent work…my new pad with embroidery for my LDG. I sent her the dimensions and she made it exactly the same length, width and height as my original. Leigh, thank you!

Jerry,
That pad is awesome! Leigh has knocked another one plum out of the park!
It really makes your L. D. G. P0P!

Thread deleted as requested.
As the title of this thread is about steel guitar armrests in general, I do not think that I can be acused of being rude for posting in this thread about about a solution close to home that I have found which helps me with my disability. I would never deliberately attempt to be rude or hijack someones thread.

I Just use a computer gel wrist pad from 3M. They come in two sizes, 3 inch deep and 2 inch deep however, they are only 19 inches long. The pad clings to the mica and does not move as it has a silicone base.
I have FND as a disability and I find this device works a treat!
