Anyone had the chance to plug a steel into one of these? I'm looking to get an amp that's no more than 25 pounds and Quilter obviously makes a great product.
It doesn't look like it's made for steel and I can't find any videos on the ol' YouTube.
Any insight will be appreciated! _________________ Williams D10 600 9x9, Quilter Cub, Helix FX

Thanks Jerry.....
Dan, let me know if you have any questions. I sold the one I had in stock to my friend but I have another on order. I liked it that much _________________ Tommy Detamore

I'm very honored to say I'm the "friend" Tommy sold his to,,,I have to say at this point it is the amp I've been looking for for 20+ years!!!,,,and I've gone through literally dozens of amp. However,,,I'm 82 years old and strictly at home type player,,,but I can see this amp playing any size venue mic'ed. JMPO,,YMMV |

Oh wow, favorite amp? That's awesome.
Mine came in and I'm just having a small issue. My williams with 710s in it distorts just a little bit even with the gain almost at zero. I've just ordered a multi effects unit to put in front of the amp, hoping I'll be able to turn the output down in order to prevent it from hitting the preamp so hard. Have you had similar experiences? Any ideas? _________________ Williams D10 600 9x9, Quilter Cub, Helix FX

I'm going straight into my amp,,,MSA Studio Pro, to an old rack and pinion volume pedal to the amp. Tommy liked the Blackface input,,,I'm a little more partial to the Tweed,,,,,however, seems my taste change from time to time,,,good to have all tree models,,gain is about 1 oclock,,speaker volume at about 11 oclock. Just a tad of reverb,,,,a clean, clear tone that makes me want to practice,,,,LOL |

Sonny, I am liking the “tweed†input myself lately with my wraparound. That guitar is brighter and a tad thinner than some and the fatness of the “tweed†setting seems like a good match for that guitar. _________________ Tommy Detamore

Picked one of these up. Super nice and light amp. Plenty of volume. I was also testing with a TT12 speaker with nice results. Excuse the playing. It's short but you'll get the drift.

I replaced by Quilter Tone Block (200 watts) with the Cub a couple months ago, and I couldn't be happier. Works really well for both my tele and my psg. The three different inputs are fantastic, you can really get a variety of tone just from those. Reverb isn't amazing, but I'm using a pedal for reverb anyway. And this thing is just so light, I can't express enough what a joy it is to pick it up and "lug" it around. |
