If you have before and after recordings of the same guitar and they are in digital format, perhaps it would be more efficient to post them here on the Forum, instead of mailing out CD's.

Many more people will get to hear the results of your mod that way.

bobby the nature is to modify the tone characterists and in some guitars it helps with the sustain as so far i have only performed this on 2 different brands of guitars but it has worked on those 2 brands real well now i have fixed several guitars of those now with nothing but happy faces so far, it makes the guitar have a much clearer tone without it being piercing to the ear in the upper registers of the guitar as above the 12th fret if u need any other ? please feel free to call or send me an e-mail tyoung52@yahoo.com

I think we'll need a before and after sample, with the exact same rig at all the same settings to hear such subtle differences. I fear that using .mp3 format would make hearing the diference more difficult, due to the file compression.

I'm still interested in what this actually entails. It's like the "big mystery"..again..

Tommy, Would you please spell out what this modification does so that we can evaluate it. Is it anything like Carter's BCT modification. What other guitars have you used in addition to Mullen??

Gentleman: Any modification to any guitar is going to make a difference--some better and some worse. That is why there are so many different makes and models of guitars being made today. Each and every guitar builder has his own way of building and having his guitar sound like (he) wants it too, but the modifications to the guitars differ on each and every different guitar, therefore I can't tell u what I'm doing to each because it is different on each one -------- and it is very simular in respect to the(bct) that others have done. Yet it is different as I work on the inside of the guitar to make it resonate the tone better and [sustain on some] for a better combination to my ear and others that have heard the difference after the mod. It is so very hard to explain (TONE)on a computer because it is heard and felt. ----- but to finish there are several different changes made to enhance tone to my liking !!It has taken me several years to accomplish these changes (and some bad changes while doing it) This is not a plug and play gimmick as some have thought. I don't like controversy so. If u have any ???? feel free to call and/or e-mail me for any further assistance. Thank You Tommy Young 662-328-9511 or 662-251-0948

Tommy you say "it is similar to BCT, but you work on the inside of the guitar."

That is exactly what BCT does, it works from the inside of the guitar. I own a Carter with the BCT modification and I know what I am talking about. A final request, what is your modification? If you can't expain it in a few words, most of us at this forum are unlikely to take your modofication seriously and dismiss it merely as a joke!!

B0b, This might be a jest and might need to be closed!!

Gentlemen, I could be wrong, which is not out of character for me, but if Mr. Young tells you exactly what he does to the guitars, then you no longer need him to do it. You will have to rely on testimonials and word of mouth or don't send your guitar to him. I think it's called "The Marketplace" He has doubtless spent many hours developing this modification and does not wish to give it away.

Dany, Sooner or later it will come out. Carter were very open about their bct and even patented it. Could Tommy not be as open and just do the same??

So a player is supposed to just pack up a guitar worth a couple of grand and send it off to have something done to it that you won't tell us. Sure.

I've got your tone mod! And it works on top of the steel!

Just ship me your guitar, and I'll play it for a couple of weeks, and it will sound amazing!

thank you so much mr. letz i think u understand absolutely correct and to add to your thoughts ALL guitars are not the same, so the mod isn't the same on all guitars to answer mr. henry i cant patent something that doesnt belong to me and u cant copy a patented product and mine isnt that at all::::::::::::: i dont like to squabble over this with any of u gentleman simply if u arent interested enough to e-mail me personally or call then maybe u should take this away from this great forum that we have. just because some got to have their name in print trying to show off their ability to start crap on here and some of us just want to let others know that we perform a service and if you are interested please call or e-mail me thanks tommy

What service? We just want to know what it is you are doing. Why should we ship an expensive guitar off to you, not knowing if you are going to drill on it or what? How do you expect to get any business?

Are you going to explain your mod or not?
This is starting to remind me of a "Green Acres" episode with Mr.Haney.

I guess I just see this differently, guys. Just calm down. Tommy has invited anyone that wants to, to call him or email him. This has turned unfriendly rather quickly. Could be something very exciting. I kinda like the suspense. Am I going to call Tommy or email him? No. I'll wait for testimonials, as I did with the Hilton pedal, Black Box, 112, etc. I'll let those who have more money than me try it out first! How about we try to support one another. Like I said, he's opened the door for any one of you to call or email him to discuss this further -- he obviously doesn't want to do it publically. There's no civil reason not to respect his wishes. And nobody's forcing anybody to send their expensive guitar to him. As a matter of fact, all Tommy's done is ask anyone interested to get one of his CDs. That's all.

Al
