I recently had the distinct pleasure of having Bobby Bowman rebuild my early 70's P/P.
Not only does this guitar play like butter, I had to actually have him add a little more resistance back into the pedals, as that was part of what I liked about the push pull feel.
He invited me into his home, (after I told him I had a week between tours and would be in his neck of the woods), and showed me as much as he could about how the mechanism works, and why.
I was thinking about selling the guitar when I got it back from him, but after spending 3 days with Bobby and my guitar, it's just too special to give up.
The work may take a while to get done, but it is well worth the wait. After seeing guitars piled up in his shop, in his garage, and even on the kitchen table(ask his wife Tony how much she likes that!!! Ha!), I know that many great players rely on Bobby's knowledge of and love for the steel guitar to get theirs done right.
We fabricated parts and rearranged parts, did a little thinking about my set up and did away with some changes I didn't use at all, and came up with a great fat back push pull guitar.
He got me to the point where I am no longer afraid of the P/P mechanism like I was before, and I'll be using this as my 1st now instead of my LeGrand.
Now if only I could play like Bobby, or Randy Reinhardt maybe...........
I could go on for days about My experience over at Bobby's place (just ask my wife).
Thank you bobby and Tony and Poncho and missy and.....uh....the black and white cat that looks like Poncho(was it Bessie?), for becoming my new family in Texas.
With much love for all,
Jordan shapiro

Well Baby Boy Jordan,
It was my pleasure and honor to have you as my guest and the newest Bowman family member. I think it was even a greater feeling for Toni, Pancho, Missy and "Prissy".
I hope that the "over a year" was worth the wait. I really felt that the old guitar had "what it took" to be a winner and thank you for having the patience and trust in me.
I wish you many happy years of pickin' on the "Black Knight".
You are always welcome anytime at your Texas home away from home. Maybe you should have left the boots here.
