Just curious, did you pickup the 130 that was on CL last week? _________________ Nickel and Steel. Sad Songs and Steel Guitar.

I'll start by telling you the VA has fitted me with hearing aids, but I've been happy with most speakers I've tried with the 130. I ended up selling my last one with a BW, but truthfully, I thought the Blue Marvel or the Scorpion did a great job with my lap steel and guitar! |

Paul, I tried a TT 12 in mine and wasn't happy. Next a TC Furlong Eminence and so far it's the better choice. I got a Celestion BN300 bass speaker as used in Quilter Micropro mach II amps and it goes in next. I would like to try one of the Peavey NV 112 Blue Marvel's. |

There seems to be some increasing popularity in the Eminence EM12N |

Here's my take on the EM12N and Wheelhouse. Each one sounds good in the Special 130, but different. The EM12N is ultimate clean with good string separation. The Wheelhouse has a pleasing warmth to the tone that makes me just want to keep playing. Hard to choose between the two.
That's what I hear playing alone at home. I can't say what they sound like playing out with a band. |

The 130 with the wheelhouse worked really well for me this past Saturday. The speaker was essentially new out of the box. So, I'm thinkin as it "breaks in" it can only sound better. Also that it's a "neo" based speaker, that took off a good bit of weight. _________________ Emmons LLG II
