Indeed an icon in the Country music industry from radio to television. I was a serious follower of his tv shows and it brought many hours of real country to our homes.
Rip Ralph. My prayers to your family.

He seemed genuine. His knowledge of the history of CM, the artists, and a wonderful sense of humor, set him apart, in my opinion. Would've loved to have a few beers and a long conversation with him about his best and not so good experiences in the music entertainment business. RIP !!

I grew up watching Ralph Emery on the Noon Show and later on, he took Bobby Lord's spot on local TV.

Always seemed to be the real deal. Guess we're all getting old. RIP Ralph

Wow,what can I say. Watched and listened to him for years. It was so easy to turn on the tv and there they were. Time just flies by, and so does the new acts and fashions of music etc. Wish we could adjust to it all ,but it sure is hard. RIP Ralph.

When I toured Japan with Kapu Kinimaka's Hula Halau, 1989, I met Yoshio Taura. He had a record shop at the Sogo department store, in Hiroshima, and had many steel guitar records.
We became good friends and I've stayed in his home several times since then.
You won't find a bigger real country music fan than Yoshio.
On his honeymoon, he and his wife, Kuzz, came to the US and visited, among other places, Nashville and Bakersfield.
Kuzz is his wife's nickname, named after the Bakersfield radio station, KUZZ.
He is a HUGE Hag fan and had 63 of his records,] at the time, and many Buck Owens records too.
He had a bar he named "El Paso". A huge Marty Robbins fan as well.
I let him know that Ralph had died and he sent me these pictures from that trip of Ralph Emory, with Charlie McCoy, and also, with a young Reba McEntire :

Last week, he sent me this "New Year Arrow" which brings good luck for the year:

RIP Ralph Emory.
