Don't know. I see lots of phone uploads like this...or perhaps it's the file size. I can rotate it upright for you.

I've never owned a guitar with a pad, but I've played them before and they don't agree with me. When do you use the pad? If you drag your wrist/arm along the leather as you move the bar, you're dealing with unnecessary and unpredictable friction. I guess you can get a little respite if your bar is hanging out at one fret for a while...but I always felt it was in the way, and seriously cut down on the level of bar control I had.
I probably didn't spend enough time with one to get a true sense of their value. I can see that they might be helpful in enforcing good ergonomic wrist position, as they don't let your wrist collapse down.

| I had D-10's for 50 years. Had an S10 and always felt "something missing". I never tried a no pad. I now have a GFI S10 with pad (not as wide as an SD10) and being used to the D10's its working out better. |

Very true,Jim! That’s why I did this with a Fender I had that had no front tuner tray.
I recently took the pad off this SD 12 and put a “dobro” neck on the back deck.

Below is pictures of 2 small pads I have put on a S10 and S12 guitars. Both at the key head have no pad but a grove that holds my Bar and Picks. I have no problem with drag on the pad.
The white MSA has a Man Made Leather cover, A little sweat and it got, Slicker Than S&%# On on a Door Knob.
I put a bracket on the right end of both pads that holds my tuner too.
Both pads was installed with Heavy Duty Vel-Cro. No holes in guitar, And Pads can be removed to place in their cases also.
The back neck space on a D 10 body would allow enough room to, Drill a hole and stand the bar up on its end, Carve out an area to hold picks, and a hole to Fit a glass with a persons favorite Snake Bite Remedy, Or an ash tray. With or without a pad behind the strings. |

| I have one steel with pad, one without. Didn’t think I’d like the pad when I got it, but I see no disadvantages so far after the first few months in. Of course it doesn’t hurt that I love the guitar to death regardless. |

I’ve been on narrow S-10 Excels for years..I use a 2.5”x25” computer wrist pad..just sits on it and doesn’t move..

| I used to see a band from the Kansas City area play at the Little Bear in Evergreen,CO. The guy that played steel with them played an old Fender D8 pedal guitar and he had strings on the back neck and the front neck was his pedal board. |
