I have just learned of Clyde Bloodworth's passing in 2019. I always enjoyed talking with him at the ISGC. He was a real gentleman and, though I never heard him play, I understand he was quite a player.

After not seeing or hearing about him for several years, I rang him up a few years ago to check up on him. He was experiencing severe memory loss and had no recollection of who I was nor of having been involved with steel guitar or the steel community. It was very sad to see.

I just got curious about him again and, unfortunately (but not surprisingly), my search turned up his obituary.

RIP Clyde. I'm glad I knew you.

He was a great guy and a accomplished C6 player. He particularly favored GAS big band numbers. I played a few shows with him here in SC.

As John said, he was a great C6 chord player. Old bald headed guy blowin’ loud and hard with lots of authority through two amps! As you said Jim, a soft spoken gentleman but when he sat down to play it was not like his personality at all. It was game on!!

I enjoyed my time with him at the regional shows and always looked forward to his set.
