Don't know if this is the right forum for this but I'm finding the idea intriguing for jazz oriented practice/recording. It's open source, free, and looks and sounds pretty cool. This is the first I've heard of it. https://www.jjazzlab.com/en/ |

You're welcome Fred. I haven't delved into it much but evidently you can import BIAB files to it and also pipe the midi into a VSTi player/sampler. I don't know if you can do anything with Real Tracks but a good player like Sample Tank would sound nice. What attracted me is the simplicity. Also of course that it's open source and free. |

Scott, I’ve been using Sound Trek Jammer Pro (now discontinued) for about 15 years. It is very simple, like this new one appears to be, and files can be saved in midi 0 or 1 and exported to DAW like Cakewalk for sonic enhancement with better GM and plugins. Since Jazzlab is free (possibly because some of the coding may have been lifted from programs like Jammer), it’s worth taking a look at for me. |

Hi Guys,
I saw this thread and d/loaded the program and it's sound files etc.
and seem to have it working a bit.
It may seem simple to you folks but I've never used any program for backing tracks etc.
It says on their website that there is a manual the can be d/loaded to a PDF.
Does anyone know where that can be found? I've looked for an hour and can't find it.
The online manual doesn't explain much for me, but I may be dumber than I thought and that would be a bit scary. _________________ I have stuff.

Thank you for your response but as usual I am still confused
That url takes me to the User Guide page where I see a large picture of the program, when opened.
Below that it has "Where to Start" with a long list of descriptions of it's features.
On the left there is a list of items to click on such as installation, FAQs, video tutorials etc.
I have no list on the right side. There is just a "search" icon up at the top right
and it does not work for me. I tried using it to find the pdf.
Thanks for your help, no need to respond to this. I will keep searching this site until I find it.
Or until I run out of rum. Could be a while _________________ I have stuff.

Larry, I had the same problem with my iPad. There is no right hand column that appears on the screen when viewing the User Guide. On my Windows laptop, the column with that “Export to PDF” selection does appear on the right side of the screen. My iPad is an older device, so maybe that is the issue, or maybe it is an Apple/MS thing.
Never assume that you are dumber than your bottle of rum, ‘cept if it’s empty. |

Hi Fred,
Thanks for that bit of info.
At least it wasn't my imagination.
I went over to my wife's computer and brought up that page
and that list popped right up.
She d/loaded it and emailed it to me.
Thank you.
Have a good day. _________________ I have stuff.

You could try zooming out, or changing the screen resolution on your PC if zooming doesn’t work. |
