Eric, IMO the horseshoe PU is the main component. I played through a Boogie Mark V miked with a Shure SM57 recorded into GarageBand. Here’s what the EQ curve looked like when I mixed the track…



Not much happening below 100Hz…the trick was cutting any shrill high end without sacrificing any important “vocal” information. A slight bump in the midrange can help maintain body, especially when listened to on phone speakers. I also used a little bit of compression.
