Got a possible lead on one of these at a very reasonable price.

Would it be suitable for installation in a Reno 400? I'm not unhappy with the stock Scorpion, but if it's going to be an upgrade in tone and a reduction in weight, that is attractive.

Picked it up. Brand spanking new. Cool seller too who happens to be the bass player for Heartfield, a well known Country band around here. Can't beat a great deal on a speaker and quality gear chat.

Will report back after installation.

Still haven't installed it, but I just found out it's not a Deltalite II, it's a first gen Deltalite No fault to the seller who didn't call it a 2.

Did find out that Evans used this speaker for a while.

Should be interesting.

The Deltalite is an 8 ohm speaker vs the stock 4 ohm. Maybe a 3db volume loss. The eminence is a more efficient speaker than the stock, so the volume loss may not be perceivable…YMMV. Ken Fox explained this better in a forum post a few years ago.

Years ago, i think it was Tom Bradshaw that sent me one of these Eminence 15" Deltalite's to try out. As I recall, i thought they sounded pretty good. If i'm not mistaken Mr Bradshaw was going to use these in his Webb amps. Been a few years ago, but i thought it was the Eminence 15" Deltalite. This is actually a sound reinforcement speaker, but voiced pretty well, it should work swell. Smile

Thanks for the info folks.

Dustin,
Yep, the minor decible drop won't be an issue for me. This is not an amp I'll be pushing to full volume at a gig.

George,
Thanks for the Info. Glad to know it should sound good.
