Is anyone on the forum using one of these for added EQ? _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

It looks to be a good 2-band parametric EQ unit. Not as versatile as a graphic EQ, but with 2 bands and 25db capability, it's far better than what's in most amps. (Most graphic EQ's only offer 15db, but I still think that a good graphic EQ would be better for pedal steel.)
However, I have done some remastering and remixing on my computer, and a 25db bass boost would certainly help on some older recordings. |

I haven't looked at the pedal or done any research, so given that, the other thing that I'm thinking............
I wonder if it could zero in on that pesky 60 Hz noise from single coil pickups?
If you could get a 25 db notch, and get it narrow enough, and zero in on the offending frequency, it may make that noise less objectionable. |

I'm using a Telonics X12 humbucker pickup. Zero noise and single coil tone. I thought maybe the Equator might be a good preamp for the Quilter 201 or one of the other models under the 201. Currently, I'm using the Boss 59 Bassman pedal for a preamp with my 201 and getting a great sound. If you set the Bassman pedal master volume full right and adjust the preamp volume to match the 201 volume it gets a clean tone. Most Bassman pedal owners use it as a distortion. I'd like to A/B the Bassman pedal vs Wampler Equator. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

I doubt it, it's rather expensive and not really designed as a notch filter. |

There's no Q control so the bandwidth is fixed. |

Q strip works working without an amp.
