Beginner here, still very unfamiliar with mechanical stuff, hoping y'all could help me figure something out with one of my Carter Starter knee levers:

Under the factory setup, the LKR should lower both E's, but my LKR is only lowering the E8, not the E4.

Could this be a "problem" - or is it more likely just a setup change that someone did at some point? (I bought this used, no clue about it's full history.) If it's the latter, I'll probably just leave it alone, but if it sounds like an issue that could be fixed, I'd love some advice on where to start! Thanks y'all.

UPDATE: Welp, actually I figured it out - so disregard - but I'll just leave this here in case anyone ever Googles the same issue like I did. The answer was: the pull rod for the E4 lower was just going through the wrong hole on the changer. Just had to scoot it over one.

Good for you! As the old saying goes...

"You can observe a lot, just by looking." Laughing

But seriously, many common problems can be diagnosed even before you take a steel out of the case. Things like overtuning, binding, and parts that don't move properly can be very obvious if you know what to look for.
