I just scored a decent deal on a National New Yorker.

Can I still buy a wire to fit this?

You probably can if you want to keep it original. However if your intention is to gig with it, you might be better off refitting it with a 1/4” jack.

Score a Switchcraft 332A adaptor and you can use a standard guitar cable. Widely available on eBay and elsewhere.

I guess I show my age when I look at that and think mic connector! I don't think the bands I worked with got a PA with XLR connectors until the late 70's. I still have a couple of the Shure 585 mics!

I used one of the adapters that Jack Hanson posted. Worked great.

It is called an Amphenol microphone connector and you want the female connector for your cord. Supro moved to them from captive cords after the War.
