I am trying to get in touch with Mark Roeder to fabricate a lap steel stand for my 8 string aluminum frypan steel. Is he still making lap steel stands?
I can't access his web site for some reason.
Thanks

I recall reading here a little while ago that Mark has retired. A Google search I did seemed to confirm that. Good for him and too bad for the steel guitar community.

I have one of his 4 legged stands with the brackets for a dobro and I was hoping to get a set of brackets that will work for a single neck lap steel. I am curious know if he has any inventory left, so I'll be keeping up on this thread. He had a good run, but I'm glad to hear that he's getting to play more gigs.

Thanks, Jon. I just checked now and there don't seem to be any listings. Ebay only shows t-shirts. Hmmm. Glad to hear that Ronald was able to buy one. Maybe it was the last one available.

I feel very fortunate finding one since Mark is now "retired", but keep looking Bill. Maybe he just fabricates them at his leisure and sells them on Reverb. I hope that is the case.
And thanks, Jon, for alerting me to the web site.

It's confusing, what's been said, where, with two threads currently running on this subject. The other thread makes mention of the fact that he no longer has his manufacturing facilities. If so, it may mean that the last few that I saw listed on Reverb were....the last few. That's just a shame. I wish nothing but the best for Mark. But I have so often referred people to his site because in a world of people recommending using walkers as lap steel stands, at least there was one professional option. He saw a need and he filled it so well.

Thanks, Ronald. I’m sure one will come up for sale either here on the Forum, Reverb, or eBay. I will probably post a wanted listing here on the Forum as well. And, Jon, hard to say what the circumstances are for Mark. Better to think the absence of the stands is due to him wanting to retire rather than a loss of manufacturing facilities.

Loose wording on my part. 'Lost' or gave up, as in 'retired and gave up the lease'. I have no idea.

My understanding of the email he sent me was that he no longer had access to the workshop because he had retired, and not the other way round.

Thank you for the clarification, Roger.

I just looked on the Asher Guitar website and they list the Mark Roeder designed lap steel stand for sale in their accessories. The listing says that stands are being shipped Dec. 21 and that they are waiting for new stock.
So, it appears that Mark's design will continue into the future.
