A great rare 7 string lapsteel made by Melobar.  Not exactly sure how old (probably over 15 years old) but it doesn't look like it has ever been touched!  The 7th string give you a lot more tuning options and even though I play an 8 string model, I rarely ever use more than 7 strings.  Post a question if you want to know more.

I have several case options available if you need one (extra charge).  This guitar has a Bartolini humbucker pickup with a three way switch so you can split the pickup.  It also has an split coil tone knob.  When pulled out it is suppose to give you a "Dobro sound."  It doesn't really do that but it is an interesting different sound if you want it.

Asking $750 plus shipping.

Probably G6, modified from Dobro tuning, G B D E G B D
Or
C13, modified from C6, Bb C E G A C E

Lots more ideas on my web page at https://papadafoe.com/lap-steel-tuning-database

Often if a player uses a 6th tuning (C6 or A6 are the most common) then the 5th of the scale is added to the top. So C E G A C E G or A C# E F# A C# E. If a player is coming from an open tuning and doesn’t want the confusion that a 6th will have if it is in the middle of the tuning then I think I would recommend putting the 6th on top or on bottom (better on bottom unless you play a lot of minor chords. With the 6th you have the ability to play the relative minor in whatever key you are in without moving the bar from the root position. Another option is to add the dominate 7 to the tuning. Lots of options. The 6th tuning is my favorite but also more challenging. But a the philosopher Spinoza said: “all things excellent are as difficult as they are rare!”
