I’ve had one for a couple years. Have not been able to master it but Tim really makes it work. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

The Axtremity. I have one too. Like Kevin, I haven't invested much time in it.
It will take some doing to learn how to use it effectively. Almost as hard as learning pedal steel...well, not really...but there are so many aspects to learn. Not a particular easy gadget to use.
Youtube has some clips of it in use besides Tim's. There's one guy playing a Weiss and dobro with it that's really good at it.
Here's one of Panhandle Rag:

I can see many possibilities even with pedal steel, but I think it might be more useful with fixed tunings.
I think they're out of production now, but sometimes a used one will turn up from some player frustrated with it. |

Same deal here. I immediately determined that without a lot of work, I was not going to be making musical sound with it and it went in the drawer. Sweet bit of design, nice idea. But not something to be taken lightly. Needs an investment of time and dedication. |

I use one from time to time, though it's definitely not my "main" steelbar. Something, that's nice to have, but not really necessary.
Here's me, playing one with a Weissenborn: https://youtu.be/HS_GYAAn5Nk |

Ok so some of you have seen it. Just watching him made me think that there would be quite a learning curve to using it. What was also interesting is that he's using it with a three string lap steel... another thing I can say I'm not familiar with. I've seen plenty of three string guitars but not lap steel. |

Seems like this should be used with it as gig transportation.
