I think this might have been my dad's first steel. Most likey a mail order guitar he bought second hand. No monetary value just curious what year it might be.

Electromuse made similar steels throughout the '40s and '50s. |

Thanks for your reply. If it makes any difference. This one doesn't have a input jack. The cable just came straight out of the guitar. |

That was not uncommon throughout that period, but it might indicate an earlier instrument. Or not . |

If you pull the control plate so you can see the back of the pots, there may be a date code on them. |

Electromuse with it's "Eye-Beam" pickup. I had one of these about 20 years ago. It was a terrible sounding guitar with very poor sustain.
Here's what the late Eddie Cunningham posted years ago:

My first steel was an Electromuse I bought in 1945. They were about the only steel available in the War years. They were advertised on the backs of comic books and as I recall were a N.Y., N.Y. company. They made only six string models and were cheaply constructed. I think I paid around $69.oo for mine, all the ones I've seen were that brown mahogany color !! Their amps were pretty good and I remember a lot of players using them in the 40s . They also sold strings wound with iron that were highly magnetic and powerful but rusted up quick !! Eddie "C" |
