I'm so impressed with the sound of the new MSA guitars. And since I live in OK, that's the closest steel builders, too. But I can't find the weight of these guitars. I looked on the website, but can't find it. Are they comparable to the old (too heavy) MSA's of the 70s? Help me out y'all? _________________ '02 Carter S-12 uni

The new MSA's are definitely lighter than the old Classics and Classic SS's. I think my Legend is a little under 70lbs in the case, and my Millennium is about 8 or 10 lbs. lighter. This is going from memory, it's been a long time since I weighed them. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

From my web site review here:

This guitar has a lot of extra hardware including knees and pedals so the average MSA will be a bit lighter. |

I just weighed my two D 10 MSAs that are set up identically with 8 and 5 and factory cases. The maple 1975 Classic is 88.4 lbs and the 2006 Legend is 68.2 lbs. Basically 20 lbs lighter. |

My new S10 Legend 5x6 is 31 pounds. Aside from the incredible tone, mechanics and ease of play, my back loves it compared to my old D10!
If you find yourself in Broken Bow/Hochatown, Nathan, give me a shout. You're more than welcome to play mine. _________________ Fiddle, banjo and steel for Tennessee Jet, Blaine Bailey
