Sierra D 10. Herby Wallace. gearless. 8&5 VG condition.

I think I may have been a little high on my initial asking price. I came up with that price from an old Reverb listing.( the Reverb price was actually higher) It was the only HW model I could find a price on.

Price Reduced to $2000 obo with volume pedal. if you don't want the pedal you can knock another $100 off of the price.

I am not sure what the outside toggles do. They are wired up and affect the signal (darker tone?), but only in a very subtle way.

I believe this guitar is similar to a Crown or in the Crown series. It has a 25" scale.

Case and Goodrich L120 volume pedal are included. The volume pedal works and is in very good cosmetic condition, but pot is a little scratchy.
If you do not want the Goodrich I will keep it and and we can negotiate a lower price.
A decades old, lower back injury, has finally caused me to have to give up pedals and levers.

note: photos of the guitar are from a previous owner, (I hope he doesn't mind) they are only a few months old and the guitar is in the exact same condition.

$2400 obo. Local pickup only in Western Maryland. Not willing to ship at this time. I may consider trades or partial trades for Fender consoles and lap steels or possibly the right Telecaster.

Those two switches may have been wired in in case you slid in a pickup that had split coil capabilities. That would have been awesome.

I've had two Sierras, and the mini-toggle switches on both of mine were indeed for switching the coil configuration for the Danny Shields multiple-coil pickups. That was a versatile setup, and I really liked the sound of those pickups.

It's a little hard to see from the pictures, but the E9 neck pickup may be a Danny Shields, the C6 sorta looks like a George L's. Actually, I just downloaded image and blew it up - I think that's what you have there.

Wish I had room for another steel. These Sierras are really fine guitars, and I'm even close enough to Western MD. In fact I was 10 miles from Hagerstown today, coulda' come home the western route. But I'm flat outta room. Sad

The quick pickup change feature is really nice. There have been a couple of coil tapped pickups that fit the old Sierras. I have a collection of about 6 pickups for a Sierra Session S-10. Had an early Crown as well. Scott at Steeltronics made me one of his ZB pickups and did a great job making the housing that slides in the Sierras, however it is not coil taped like the old ZB pickups. Sounds great!

Do you have a weight on this in and out of the case?

And, what is different about the Herby Wallace model? I never saw him playing a Sierra- only Mullen.

I saw Herby play a Sierra several times, before the Mullen days. Odd thing, though, one day I was at his shop in Sevierville and asked him about earlier times when he was playing a Sierra. He denied having done so, so I didn't mention it anymore.

I don't know why I haven't seen these replies. Guitar is still available. I am still trying to make a local deal but may consider shipping in next month when I have some days off from work.

I do believe the HW model is rare . i have found but a couple of photos online of this model. I am not sure of the differences between this and a Crown . the tuners do not require a wrench and can be tuned by hand.

Lynn, I will check the weight and let you know.

Also, may consider trading for a Clinesmith cast aluminum, single 8 lap.
