Hey all!

Just got a line on a '59 Fender 1000 project. Can anyone tell me what the cabinet dimensions are so I can start shopping for case ideas, please?

Also, the OEM pickups and wiring are MIA, so I'm looking at the Sentell LS-10 (P-90 style) pickups with a Mojotone Telecaster wiring harness, complete with output jack and three-way pickup switch. Am I on the right road with the wiring?

Thanks for your input!

mine is 38.25" x 12.25" x 5.5" (1" added for the knee levers, would be 4.5" without levers).

Nice!

The one I scored is a blonde with brushed aluminum.

Have you had any issues with the stock wiring?

This was my dad's guitar and he was the original owner. I have never had any problems with this guitar.

That should work fine. I replaced one of my 1000 pickups with an LS-10 (more like a Jazzmaster than P90). It sounds good and the Tele setup should do the job.

Thanks everyone for your help with this!

The Sentells are ordered. They build them to order, so we're looking at about two weeks for the pair. I'm going to have the gang at Professional Music Center in Urbandale (Holla!) handle wiring and setup. Their owner recently passed away, so I want to show support.

One more thing. I'm looking at cases and since I'm on a budget, I discovered an interesting alternative. Thanks to the measurements, I discovered that I could fit the rig in a 42 inch all weather gun case with padding installed. (Pics will be supplied upon project completion)

What makes this whole project easy is that this 1000 has had all of the pedals, pulleys, and changer mechanisms removed. I'm basically getting a console version of a Fender 1000 and TBH, I couldn't be happier about it. My first PSG was a 1000 when I was a wee lad, but my heart, craft and passion have been in the old ways, but with new twists. Can't wait to share it with y'all!

Thanks Tim!

Where are you in CO? I grew up in Estes Park.

I'm in Arvada Robert. Here is a shot of my 1958 Fender 1000. This has been my main guitar for 21 years.

Bee-YOO-tee-ful! Aged like a fine wine!

I particularly love that volume pedal! Loved having that foot tone shifter.
