Hello,
I have a Fender Stringmaster and on one of the bridges I recently put new strings in the B-11 tuning 8 strings 1-8 are as follows:
E,C#,A,F#,D#,B,F#,B. I found this tuning from one of the websites and said it was a beautiful Hawaiian tuning.
Does anyone know anything about it and where I might locate some instruction material,or tab material ? Thanks a lot. Marian |

Try this version, Marian ...
E,C#,A, F#, D#, C#, A, B
There are a few different voicing variations people use for B11th tuning but this one is the prettiest of all IMHO. |

Jerry Byrd has tab for "How Do Ya Do" and "Sand" in his instructional course for this tuning. "Hana" is another great B11 tune to play.
Another thing that's cool to do is something I learned listening to Duke Ching. He'll be playing a tune in C6 (C13 actually) and as a passing chord between the tonic and IV chord will play a big fat straight bar 9th chord on the B11 neck one fret higher than what he was playing on the C13 neck. |

| For years I did a fair job playing Jerry Byrd's popular "Steelin' the Chimes"...using A6th for the first chorus, then dropping back to C6th for the 2nd verse. I was a late bloomer and only found out about the B11th tuning some years back and of course, that's what he uses all the way thro' on the particular tune. BIG FAT CHORDS!! |
