As used ny Kurt Cobain, the original SansAmp could double as a distortion pedal, but its intended purpose was as a device to directly patch an instrument into a sound system without an amp. A great tool for sound technicians in 1989, and 32 years later, the standard on stages and coffeehouses worldwide. The SansAmp provides an ALL ANALOG / USA-built solution for modeling Fender, Marshall and Mesa Boogie amps and speakers for stage or studio. Alternately, the foot switchable bypass allows for use as an incredibly versatile distortion pedal.
