Sara Jory's new cd. I have not had a chance to play it yet, but much of the cd was in her set list, which was KILLER!! I'd say there are allot of guy pickers that would be very hard pressed to hang with Sara. Thats a fact, too.

She is an inspiration to anyone who sees her perform, and especially to women who may consider taking up steel guitar---that, yes ladies, you too can excell if you are willing to put in the "chair time"!

Ok, got through the cd all the way---WOW!! Go get a copy off her website, you will not be disappointed! What feel and emotion!!

A dobro capo, and I wasn't even in St. Louis. My friend Buck Dilly picked it up for me, in between phone calls to let me know what a great time he was having.

Well, it certainly wasn't the drink Smiley Roberts wanted me to buy him! My only purchase was some strings but I am going to buy a line 6 Pod from Tommy Dodd with the holder. I hope Clive Swindell comes forward and tells everyone what he bought. I nearly cried it was so pretty.

Among other things, I picked up a copy of Doug Jernigan's new CD of Jazz Standards featuring just him and Brent Mason on guitar. Great, great playing.

Jim, I also bought Doug's new cd and it is terrific as is the other one of his with Bucky.
My wifes favorite band is The Moody Blues so your terrific new cd was definetly her favorite. Other than cd's I also picked up my new old blond Sho-Bud Pro 111 D-10 that I had bought from Danny Hullihen.

Jim Cohen's new CD (actually it was complementary, and it's GREAT!), Sarah Jory's new CD, Mike Hedrick's "Up to the Gills" CD, some Jagwire Jimmy Crawford series strings, and a Strobo-flip. I thought I would buy a lot of chilli dogs, but the first one cured me of that notion!

Two Lynn Owsley CD's some of those $1 bar and picks bags in the main room. Mike Perlowin was good enough to give me a copy of part of his current album to come. I bought two of those little blinking pins with all the lights for my wife with a Bingo card and they other was a frog and she's into frogs right now. The convention is cool because when I get back from there it's somewhere real close to my birthday on the second so I do really good on this weekend. I'm ordering a new 3" 15/16ths hard chrome bar from Jim Burden today.

I bought Paul Franklins new Double CD, a BJS 15/16" John Hughey bar, some more picks, string sets, some Billy Phelps tracks, couple of Herb Steiner's tracks packages, a new flight case for my Carter D-10, and an incurable appetite for Brad Sarno's Revelation Preamp... may be a future purchase for me real soon.

A great weekend.... Can't wait until next year!

Well I got a total case of G.A.S. and bought John Hughey's Black Zum hybrid from Bruce. It should be here in a week or so, but it involved another session with the financial planner!!.

I took Johnny and Joan Cox to dinner at the big restaurant at the top of the North Tower.

It was really nice sitting down and talking with them for an hour. Johnny and I had spoken on the phone several times while he was building my guitar, but this was the first time we met in person. (Joan and I met prevously at another steel show.)

Aside from being excellent players, they are both really nice people. I'm glad I had the chance to get to know them.

The food was pretty good too.
