Heard that Phil passed this afternoon. Apparently Covid was what finally took him down. He fought a good fight for a long time and played the heck out of the Dobro! Not to mention being a great guy.

A great guy to be around and as Brad said, one of the Masters. I found the way he dealt with his on-going health setbacks very inspiring. My condolences also to his family. |

Seems like we have to check here every day only to find another one of our friends has passed. RIP old friend. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Stereo Steel amp, Telonics 15” speaker.

Liven up that Heavenly band my friend. So glad I got to know you. I'll miss your jokes and that radiant smile. You were an icon in the dobro society. |

So sad to hear of my friends passing. Phil and I became friends when he moved to Nashville in late 80s 3 miles from me. One of the kindest and most humble persons I’ve ever met. Phil leaves a great legacy as a musician, father, husband and friend. |
