It's my great pleasure and honor to announce the release of "70 Years of Swinging Steel", a lifetime retrospective of mostly previously unreleased recordings from the private archives of Bobby Black, featuring his late younger brother Larry. There's even one tune that also features my Pa, Pee Wee Whitewing, as they had a band together in their late teens called "The West Coast All Stars". I had the privilege of writing the bio for the liner notes on this project for a man and musician I deeply love and admire and who has long been a part of our extended family.

You can find order it online at: https://stores.portmerch.com/littlevillagefoundation/featured-products/bobby-black-cd.html

You can stream it on SoundCloud and read the bio I wrote for Bobby at:

I saw this post a few days ago and was frustrated by not being able to find a way to buy the CD via that Little Village link.
Buying instructions have since been updated here and I've Paypal'ed money to Myles. Looking forward to receiving this. I dig Bobby Black's playing so much.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. This is a wonderful compilation. The first few tracks from an early 50's live broadcast are especially spectacular, but lots of hot playing throughout. Highly recommended!

And big thanks to Myles for making this happen.

Just received the CD in the mail today. It is great to hear Bobby Black on some of the earlier tracks. I am really impressed with Larry Black's playing. It seems quite a bit different from Larry's playing on the Skull Orchard album. Great stuff!

I just received my copy and does it ever swing! I'm so glad these performances were preserved and finally released. Thanks for putting this project together.
