Is anyone out there using George L EON’s in a push pull? Or even a LeGrand for that matter? Actually, are there very many players using these pickups? |

Dean,
This doesn’t directly answer your question, but a close buddy of mine had some EON’s in his Mullen G2 and I really loved the way they sounded. To my ears it was the best sound I’ve ever gotten out of a Mullen. They are a very clean sounding humbucker.
I purchased a new George L’s TW that’s supposed to be basically the same as a EON. I installed it in one of my Show Pros because it’s what Rusty Danmyer uses in his Show Pros. Rusty makes them sing, me, well I didn’t like it. No string separation to my ears.
I don’t know if this helps you at all, but it’s my only experience with G.L. Pickups. _________________ Bolt On’s: Red Belly, Brown Belly, 73 Sho~Bud Pro~II, Fender’s/Peavey’s. If it doesn't sound like 1968, then I probably won’t like it. |

Again, this may not help, but when I constructed my first uni 12 I chose an EON and it gave a homemade guitar a very acceptable classic kind of sound. I would trust one to give a good result on any steel. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Guys, thanks for your input. I’m going to try those pickups. I like the sound of E-66’s, but just a little too shrill, so I think the EON, will tame that down a little. I’m sure they will sound great in a Push Pull. |

I'm not an authority on this, but I believe the E-66 is supposed to remind us of a single-coil unit, whereas the EON doesn't try to be anything but a decent humbucker. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
