I had this build in 1991, used it on some recordings and put it back in the case where it has been for decades.
Not a flaw of any kind. Non-electric pickguard to make the guitar completely acoustic. The pickup has a quick disconnect inside that you can pull up through the F-hole. Very simple to remove the pickup assembly.

Heritage is a fantastic guitar and the Golden Eagle is top of the line. Cousin to the Johnnie Smith Gibson or L5. If I could afford the price, I'd make it mine. It appears there is a second pick guard? |

Also, impossible to replace. Very few USA builders even know how to build an archtop. Hand built archtops made in America are quickly becoming a thing of the past. |

Al:
What's the width of the lower bout, please? Jim compares this model to the Johnny Smith or the L-5 but they're 17" wide. At a glance, this looks more 'Super 400-like'; Super 400s have an 18" bout.
This is a beautiful instrument! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

I used this guitar on a CD that you and I are both on. The one with George Sabolic back in 1992 or so. |
