Where can you buy the foam that is inserted between the rods and cross shafts that muffle the rattling of these rods?
I tried, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-mart, Hobby stores, Art supplies stores, Bath & Beyond, Michael's etc.,
no foam pads or products at all.
This foam is used in packing, like expensive glass ware, computer parts, etc.
Buddy my cat destroyed the foam that was under my 2019 MSA Legend!!!!!!!!! |

My wife works in fabric retail. She tells me that, currently, all varieties of foam (it's needed when they reupholster furniture) are extremely hard to come by.
It's covid-related - containers are backed-up everywhere and all sorts of supplies are, consequently, in short supply. Shipping costs have ballooned, too, which isn't helping. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

You might try a fabric store such as, 'JoAnns'. Most carry foam material in varying thicknesses used for making throw pillows. |

New foam is sometimes hard to find. And even when you do find it, it's ridiculously expensive nowadays. Go to a second-hand store and buy an old foam pillow or bolster for $3-$5 and you'll have all you need. |

My in point my earlier post was that even fabric outlets are struggling to keep foam in stock. At the business where my wife works, they're having to turn some upholstering work away. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

A couple of times I've had good luck with obtaining remnants from a local upholstery shop which I use as packing material for shipping. This actually turned out to be a symbiotic relationship, as small scrap pieces are just a disposal nuisance to the upholsterer. Especially since you are looking for such a small quantity, I'd recommend trying this route.
I hope this helps. |

Found the foam. Home Deport has these foam filters used in wet/dry shop vacuum canisters.
The product is called, MULTIFIT Replacement filters. #VF2001. Cost is, $5.97. You find them where all the Rigid wet/dry vacuums are located.
I tired one of these filters and they worked, in fact they are thin to some degree but it works, you first cut the filter forming into one long sheet. The thickness under 1/2 inch. You can cut it into strips to your desire length and then weave it through the rods. It cushions the rattling of the rods. It s like sound proofing.
I till can't find is that yellow soft foam, the foam itself is very fine in texture. |

I bought a pack of scrubbies at the grocery store and cut the foam out of the nylon bag. Worked great. |

I wonder where you get those. And what do they do as they pass a bellcrank on the same changer? |
