Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with volume. I played a job tonight and had master and gain maxed out and it was adequate but I’m thinking it should have been way louder at those levels. On my Steelaire I max master and run the gains at 4 at the most.

My TB202 has more volume than I need.
Were you using any effects? or maybe a problem with the volume pedal.

Try it with just guitar to amp first and see if you have full volume. If OK then add volume pedal and try again. If OK, add whatever effects and try again. If everything is OK it could have been a bad guitar cord connection somewhere in the chain or even low AC power voltage.

Maybe a dumb question, but how about the limiter? You didn't mention that....

Al, this amp is still new to me and I’m not sure what the limiter does and it doesn’t seem to make any difference. The instructions do say it’s subtle but a lot of the instructions seem to be explained to another sound engineer and not an electronics dummy like myself.

The limiter will NOT have a noticeable affect on the volume, no matter how it is set. Its subtle impact is on hair/overdrive/'sag' when the gain is turned up.

OK. I have assumed that, as a limiter, it would limit the maximum signal passing out of the preamp to the power amp. But I haven't tried it at high volume levels.

This thread is not about a Steelaire volume problem. The TT15 uses the Quilter TB202 amp.

Jack, I am well aware what the post subject is.I am pointing out to OP that there have been volume problems with other Quilter products.

Bobby, did you get this figured out? With master and gain both turned all the way up, it should be insanely loud. Like, you shouldn't be able to stand to be anywhere near it.

Have you contacted Pat Quilter? He's been very responsive (as in less than 24 hrs) to every question I"ve put to him about my Quilter TT12.
