Here is a 9 string guitar i am finishing up. only thing left to do is make a wrist rest for it. have to decide the size of the rest and the best position location for it.

i really like these 9 string guitars. why 9 you ask? well the extra string for an 8 string player allows for either an added low note or high note plus the readily available 10 string pedal steel pickups allow 3/8ths spacing for the 9 strings. the fretboard is machined out of the maple body slab not glued on and the machine heads are mounted on two "ledges" that are also machined out of the body. this allows as much of the thickness of the maple as possible in the head area rather than removing wood that is otherwise very important in preventing flex at the head area and causing the strings to lose energy/sustain.

i made a nice laid back pretty audio demo of the song "vaya con dios". this is such a great song for the lap guitar.

the tuning asked for on this guitar is extended leavitt.

That looks and sounds very nice!
How are you extending the Leavitt tuning to 9 strings?

The wrist rest will look like this. Made of rosewood with a coat of lemon fingerboard oil on it. Works great.
