Beltona makes a full metal squareneck just like a vintage National, National Reso-Phonic will put a wood squareneck on theirs, but you can still get a decent vintage German Silver National for the same or cheaper than either of these. |

I've tried at least 100 of different makes...best I found was a late 28 National...get one...price for squares isn't out of line and till late 28, John Dopyera (the inventor hisself)was still doing quality control...those are simply the best IMHO

I have National # 364, late '27 or early '28, it was the last one to have the wood spacer for the cones. I think it sounds pretty special. |

I played a few new metal body squarenecks in London a few months ago. they were badged Supro, and were single cone. Pretty good, and priced at about £500. |

you would be suprised....I recently saw a 29 Tri-cone at Dave's guitar in Wis.for under 2g's....style 1 in excellent shape, but after re-reading your post, I don't know if your looking for a single or Tri-cone......they are on line... www.davesguitar.com I think
