Wow, what a collection of great players. I noticed JD was playing through an older Fender Twin. Nice match up for his sweet Emmons PP. |

Johnie very graciously hosted us in his home, which has become known as a regular hangout for Nashville’s steel pickers. Several top players blessed us by stopping by, and we were able to receive some really great feedback.
We will be releasing footage of the new guitar in the days to come via our website and social media pages, and if you’d like to stay up to speed on what’s new, sign up for our newsletter at www.emmonsguitar.co
Remember, stay tuned... _________________ Co-owner and operator: Emmons Guitar Co. |

I had a third hole in one of my Emmons to tune the E to F lever on the right back plate, so you don´t need a halftone tuner.

The picture of the Sd 10 pp is Jay Dee Manis's personal steel. Some of the Pro players brought there on Push Pull.
Jay Dee did the setup himself on his Emmons Push Pull steel.
Jay Dee has worked some voodoo or black magic on his Emmons's.
It would make the best all pull steel set up an take notice"!!!

I wonder what JayDee's fourth pedal does. Is his set-up available anywhere? _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Roger, his 1st pedal is a zero pedal, but I forget exactly what it does. I think it may lower the 5th string down a whole step.
BTW, that guitar plays like a Swiss watch... |

Thanks, Skip. I always assumed his set-up to be more minimalist and was suprised to even see a fourth pedal (most of the footage with JayDee shows him with an 8-pedal D-10).
It would be good to know for sure. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Looking at the pic, it looks like the zero pedal lowers 5&10 a whole step.
A,B,C are stock Emmons.
LL lowers E's
LR raises E's
RL lowers 2&9
RR raises 7 a whole tone...& maybe something else. I don't think he raises 1 a whole... |

Thanks, Skip - I can never work things out 'upside-down' like that!)
So, probably a basic E9 set-up. I like raising the 7th rather than lowering the 6th. I wonder how long he's had that 5/10 lower and if he has it on his D-10. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

The 5/10 lower is fairly new. He may have it on one of his D10's.
I like raising 7, too. I have that on both my steels...makes certain things sound just a bit different than if you were lowering 6. |
