I've been out of the steel world for a couple of years (with cancer and covid) and wanted to see if someone could help me out with a question about changing a copedent on a Carter S-10 I recently purchased.
Currently the steel has RKL raising the 1st & 7th to G#. I want to change to the following: Keep the 1st string raise, add 2nd string raise to E and 6th string lower to F# (and get rid of the 7th string raise)..
I've been playing for a long time but have not really done any major work like this myself, but I am pretty mechanically inclined. Can I accomplish this? Any suggestions how to go about it?
Many thanks fellow steelers for any and all assistance!

Absolutely. Unless I'm spacing out, you'll need one more bell crank & dog bone & pull rod & nylon tuner. PM me your snail mail and get me an exact measurement of the rod and I can shoot you the whole works. |

If you plan to "split tune" string 6 to get the G note when combining you RKL and the B pedal, you'll need still another rod and dog bone. That rod can be hooked to the same bellcrank and to the top raise hole in the changer. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
