I just read that Dusty Hill passed away. I've listened to him lay down the solid foundation bottom end in that band for years. |

Yes, very sad, I think ZZ Top has the distinction of being the longest running band with their original lineup. There is a great documentary on them on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
I love those guys! _________________ Regards, Craig

Love me some ZZ Top, and I love Dusty's bass playing. An absolute anchor, in the best possible sense. RIP Dusty. |

My favorite ZZ Top era is from Deguello back.
He sang alot back then, hell of a voice.
Sorry he is gone, but sounds like he didnt suffer, thankfully. |

Deguello, yeah. Acutally, I never knew Dusty was singing. I guess I was always wrapped up in the song and the music.
My buddy and I spent many an hour in the 80s chasing women and riding around in the Gran Prix with a powerful stereo rig cranked to Deguello and Eliminator cassettes. We also partied a lot to that music.
I think between us, we have all the music recorded to that point.
Just a ton of music from three guys. I guess BG will continue on? but it's an end of an era with Dusty gone for sure.
I see someone else posted in Gone Home about Dusty a couple days after my post here. I thought this was the place for the death notice. Oh well |
