| I made a few early ones that were just rounded off on the end,,,then I remembered the high end Gibson guitars that had what was called (I think) a bow tie where the fret board terminated on the body,,,so I thought,,,why not,,,LOL |

I am curious about string spacing. Is it the same at the bridge and nut? If it’s 3/8†at the nut, did you make your own keyless tuners, or have them manufactured, or is that a stock dimension?
Okay, also...Wow! That is a looker, and Im sure it sounds great. Interesting about doing the oil finish over stain and being extra cautious with sanding. |

whooaa Gene,,those last two are some VERY early ones,,,the ones I want to forget,,,the ones that made me want to make a better one,,,LOL,,,those were pre-schnobel,,,LOL!!!!!! (you see why I started making them WITH the "schnobel",,,,!!)

LOL,,,Fred,,,my shop consist of 10 16 storage bldg, band saw, drill press, hand grinders, belt sander, vibra-sander,,,typical hand tools and clamps.
Gene,,,I've got 4 started,,may be a while before one is finished,,I don't even have one for myself right now,,and I want to make a couple of acoustic practice boards , 10 string. |

| Well,,,unfortunately Joe is now dealing with some health issue and can't play any more. This guitar is now available,,,played very little, never out of house. Joe paid $800 for it,,,wants $700 |

That's always difficult to read about. I hope he gets better over time.
I think the SG forum is different from most music forums, we are aware, or get reminders that life is a gift and (at least try) be happy for what you got. Other places they mostly argue and argue about sitka vs red vs Italian vs Rumanian spruce and if you can buy a decent 6 string guitar for $2000 (there's people saying you can't).

I think I spelled Shnobel wrong. It's actually spelled Schnabel, with an a.
It's a term used to describe the fore stock on a savage 99 rifle BTW.
In retrospect the savage Schnabel is shaped different - kinda keeps your hand from sliding forward off the stock.
Maybe we should stick with the Schnobel spelling. |
