I thought it would be interesting to see what you've heard some call a pedal steel when they couldn't quite think of "pedal steel guitar." I've heard "pedestal" guitar as well as "table steel." Any other interesting "aliases"??

My neighbor's Cuban father says it's called a "piano guitar" in Spanish.

I've also heard people on this forum call it a "chick magnet." As a woman, I must say, that is completely true. LOL.

Petal steel, keyboard, lap steel....all of which make no sense to me, although I think petal steel is a cool name, an oxymoron.

Young lady from Lubbock, Texas looked at my Computer Wallpaper photo of my LDG and guessed it to be a BBQ grill of some type---my response, yes ma'am and it's a goodun! ha

"The Taranaki Gate" -- which is the coloqial name for a temporary gate made of fence wires, stretched out and hooked over a fence post to form a gate..... or "The Black and Decker work-mate" (a foldup home handyman type portable work bench with legs) --- sorry guys these are very localised sayings!
