Has anyone replaced the stock speaker with a TT 12?

Use a TT-15" and change it to a rear mount, very easy and helps slightly with the bass response. Remove the existing speaker and screw the speaker screws back into the mounts and just tap them out lightly with a small hammer. I used a small bit and drilled where the mount claws will enter the baffle so they would go in easy and not bend. Sounds great. I used a drum machine for a couple of days to soften up the speaker. I now have more bass and much sweeter highs. For me it was worth it. |

I use a Steelaire rack with a 12" TT. |

I also used a Steelaire rack mount but with a 15" TT in a Tommy Huff cabinet. I have used both, and both are good, but I prefer the round full sound of a 15". Perhaps because I have been using them for so long. |

I had a Steelaire amp. I had an EPS-15C speaker and installed it. Smoothed the highs.
I thought the Steelaire had too many highs, but it was the George L's cables that I was using. Sold the Steelaire (with stock speaker reinstalled) and bought a Travis Toy 12 combo (downsized and less weight). Initially I though the TT12 was too bright but after using regular guitar cables, there it was the sound I was looking for. If I had used regular guitar cables with the Steelaire I would probably still have it. |

I agree with Jack in regard to the cables. I prefer standard high quality cables with Steelaire equipment. I have been using that method for several years, try it. |

I have a Steelaire rackmount with a Telonics 15" in their cabinet. It's a great combo to my ears. |
