Howdy, fellers!
Well, I've taken the tuner pans off about 30 or more Dual Pros and I've only seen a few with the date clearly visible under the finish.
But I've never seen the name "Davis" before--until now (and we have 2 so far). Anyone else? Wish we could figure out who "Davis" was!
The date 5-29-52. Not super easy to see under the finish, but you should be able to make it out (I adjusted the contrast).

Mine’s not Davis but it’s clearly TG (Tadeo Gomez). I haven’t heard of a “Davis†either. _________________ "The Masher of Touch and Tone"

And it's a 5-s Dual Pro that hasn't been refinished? Did you look under both pans? _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup. Looks like I've got initials in one cavity and the date in the other. Anyone familiar with those initials?

Does anyone know for sure what would these “dark†finish trapezoid models are? Are they really walnut or are they just called that because of the dark stain? (Official Fender stuff I have seen seems to just say “darkâ€).
Pretty obvious from the pics the blonds are swamp ash, I wonder how much of a difference the differing woods make! |

Here's the date from a Custom T-8 I used to own. I'm afraid I didn't take any pictures with the other pans removed and I don't remember if there was a name in the other cavities.
