Got a cheap T knock off. It's just fine except the 1st string is weak on the bridge pup.
I'm looking for suggestions on a reasonably priced SC vintage style bridge pickup. Don't want something that costs more than the guitar just a good quality stock type replacement for the vintage T sound. I think this one is about 6.6K ohms as I recall. Flat pole. String spacing 2 1/8 I think.
Thanks for your help |

If you want inexpensive, the Tonerider line gets good reviews. Supposedly these are what is used in the Squier custom vibe line. If you want boutique but fairly priced, Rob Distefano (who I think is a member here) of Cavalier pickups has a great reputation and the prices were very reasonable last time I checked. _________________ '81 Sho-bud LDG, 2 EMCI's |

Thanks Doug. Yes, I saw that the other day while I was over that way. It's a possibility.
Brian, I'm looking at the Tonerider as well. The poles dimensions seem too wide at 55.6 mm. I measure mine at around 54mm. Aren't there different spreads for these? They are also staggered v. flat pole pieces?
Also, seems to be some different choices like alnico III or alnico V. |

The "vintage" and "modern" bridges are slightly different in string spacing and pick up angle which may account for any differences. In practice, I doubt it would be noticeable. I also tend to think the staggered poles we're related to when a wound G was common. I'm no expert though... _________________ '81 Sho-bud LDG, 2 EMCI's |
