One of my earlier inspirations. I had to learn Raindrops keep falling on my head af seeing the movie. Back then I was playing nylon string guitars and practiced flamingo styles. Pedal steel came much later. I followed his voice into the Hank Williams album and beyond. Incredible stylist with a gifted voice. RIP BJ Thomas. |

Got to mix monitors for him at a private event in the Sierra foothills around 2003. He was such a nice and humble man. He’s home now. _________________ MCI Arlington S-10 3+5, George L E-66, BJS & Emmons bars, Fender Stage Lead II 100W 1x12, Fender Satellite SFX, custom FX rack, 1983 Dobro 60D, SX-8 lap steel, Martin D16GT, Ibanez AS73, 1978 Rickenbacker 4000 custom. |

My first date with my wife I took her to see BJ in June of 1972 . He was the headliner I believe at the last Birmingham AL. radio station WVOK put on for many years . Always loved his silky voice. He will be missed . |
